    SPEED SETTINGS
When you install my drivers they will be optimized for quality and stability, not speed, now I have the speed over quality settings for my driver set, please be aware that the picture quality will degrade somewhat. With this settings used in my drivers you will gain at least 10FPS on OpenGL games and 8FPS in Direct3D.
    Here they are:
    *Global Settings
    ---Edge Anti-Aliasing: Disabled
    ---Highest Quality Video: Disabled
    ---AGP Command FIFO: AGP 2X
    ---Refresh Optimizaton: Mode 2
    ---VIA Chipset: Performance
    *Direct 3D
    ---Speed Settings: Fastest
    ---3D Filter Quality: Normal
    ---Alpha Blending: Sharper
    ---Geometry Assist: Enabled
    ---Level of Detail Bias: 1.00
---Maximum Pending Buffers: 2 Pending Buffers
    ---MIP Map Dithering: Disabled
    ---Z-buffer Optimization: Enabled
    ---Guardband Clipping: Enabled
    *OpenGL/Glide
    ---Speed Settings: Fastest
    ---3D Filter Quality: Normal
    ---Alpha Blending: Sharper
    ---Glide Splash Screen: Disabled
    ---Depth Precision (16 Bit): Faster
    ---Legacy Texture Compression: Enabled
    ---Level of Detail Bias: 1.00
    ---Limit Texture Memory: Software Controlled
---Maximum Buffered Frames: 2 Pending Buffers
    ---MIP Map Dithering: Disabled
    ---Triple Buffering: Enabled
---Hidden Surface Removal: Disabled (Leave like this until 3dfx fixes the bugs)
    ---Guardband Clipping: Enabled
If I change more values the drivers will go faster, but the image quality would be seriously compromised. These settings will help people with slow machines get a little more juice in exchange for quality.
Also remember if you are doing benchmarks with Quake 3: DON'T turn the Texture Detail to the MAX, the 3dfx cardS doesn't support large textures and you will loose 10FPS or more when the slider is maxed out, instead just move the slider one notch less than the max setting and that will give you the best speed with great quality.

    BIOS SETTINGS
First, make sure you have cleaned your registry from previous drivers to make sure no old settings mess up the new drivers. For the cleaning process press BACK on your browser and enter my 3dfx help page, there you will find how to clean it and some other known issues about the 3dfx tools and TV out problems.
Second, use this settings in your BIOS along with my drivers to get the best performance possible out of your 3dfx card (this settings are not avaiable in all motherboards, use only the ones that fit your BIOS):
Fast Gate A20 Option : ENABLED
    Video BIOS shadowing : ENABLED
    Video BIOS cacheable : ENABLED
xxxxx - xxxxx Shadow : ALL DISABLED
    IDE prefetch mode : ENABLED
Init Display First : AGP or PCI (SELECT YOUR CARD TYPE)
IDE HDD Block Mode : ENABLED
IDE 32-bit transfer mode : ENABLED
Assign IRQ for USB : DISABLED (UNLESS YOU USE USB DEVICES)
Assign IRQ for VGA : ENABLED
    PCI/VGA palette snoop : DISABLED
    PNP OS Installed : ENABLED
    Resource Controlled By : AUTO
    AGP aperture size : 64
AGP master 1 WS write : ENABLED***
AGP master 1 WS read : ENABLED***
    Bank 0/1, 2/3 DRAM timing : TURBO***
CPU to PCI write buffer : ENABLED
    Delayed Transaction : ENABLED
    DRAM speculative leadoff : ENABLED***
DRAM Data Integrity Mode : NON-ECC (UNLESS YOU HAVE ECC MEMORY)
Delay DRAM read latch : (THE LOWER, THE FASTER)***
    Fast writes : ENABLED
    Memory parity/ECC check : DISABLED***
    Passive Release : DISABLED
    PCI Concurrency : ENABLED
PCI master 0 WS write : ENABLED***
RAS active time : (THE HIGHER, THE FASTER)***
RAS to CAS delay : (THE LOWER, THE FASTER)**
    Read around write : ENABLED
    SDRAM Bank Interleave : 4-bank/way
SDRAM CAS Latency Time : 2**
    SDRAM cycle length : 2**
    SDRAM Precharge control : ENABLED
    Spread spectrum (modulation): DISABLED
    System BIOS cacheable : DISABLED
    Video RAM cacheable : DISABLED
    8 bit I/O Recovery Time : 1
    16 bit I/O Recovery Time : 1
    Turbo frequency : ENABLED
** = ONLY IF YOUR MEMORY SUPPORT IT, OTHERWISE USE THE NEXT
    HIGHER VALUE
*** = WILL IMPROVE SPEED BUT DECREASES STABILITY, IF YOU HAVE
    PROBLEMS CHANGE IT
Well, that's all for the BIOS.
This settings should increase you framerates with the Voodoo (they increased mine), if you want do a benchmark before and after the changes, it will give you a good idea of the gain obtained.
    Good Luck!
