Roadmap Indicates CUDA 3.0 in Q4 2009
As the only runtime C language environment for GPU at present, NVIDIA CUDA has been put into application by 25,000 users in more than 100 programs. Of course this number has been increasing with the improvements of CUDA itself.
Since the official launch of CUDA 1.0 in 2006, it was upgraded to CUDA 1.1 in 2007, and then to CUDA 2.0 in the first half of this year. CUDA 2.1 is scheduled to be out at the end of this year. And there will be CUDA 2.1, CUDA 2.2 and CUDA 2.3 versions before CUDA 3.0 comes to us in Q4 next year.
CUDA has integrated OpenCL 1.0 standard support, and is about to add DirectX 11 Compute Shader support. As an integration of OpenCL and DX11 computing, CUDA offers the best GPU computing choice for developers.
