Mobo dual AMD chipset 760 mpx

a parte il raid che io ho scsi ( adaptec 2100 s ) , la msi e' al livello della gigabyte , secondo te?
per le memorie crucial , io le ho comprate direttamente in inghilterra ( www.crucial.com )
sono costate meno che in italia pero' ci ho smenato con il pagamento tramite banca , perche' non ho la carta di credito , se tu decidessi di prenderle li , dimmelo che prendi anche i miei 2 moduli , se vuoi ti mando anche i $ in anticipo
intanto metto a vendere i moduli che mi avanzano....

Onestamente a me la giga ispira..però senza prove sul campo c'è poco da dire.
Della MSI abbiamo una review..che ne parla tutto sommato bene...anche se è pur sempre solo una...
Non ho capito la questione RAM, vuoi dire che hai comprato dalla crucial i tuoi 256mb*4 ? Ed a causa della mancanza di carta di credito hai speso di +?
In ogni caso se prendo le crucial per me non c'è problema a prenderne 2 in +, solo mi preoccupano le spese di spedizione...

io il 465..non lo vedo in giro..anche perchè non pensavo esistesse...viso che c'è il 430W..che verrà sostituito dal 433W.
Li lo vendono? A quanto? magari mi prendi anche quello

si qui l'alimentatore veramente costa pochissimo
il 465W costa visto ieri, 230K
il problema dell'ali stavo per prendere il 651W per Anny e' il peso... ma poi se facciamo il pacco non dovrebbero esserci problemi

230k? beh si...qui il 430W costa 103€+iva=240k c.a.

ma sei sicuro che sia 465W?
ha la regolazione velocità ventole?

a7m266-d and athlon xp - it works!
i think most of us figured it would - but this is for the skeptics still out there. fed-ex just delivered my 2 a7m266-d boards. stuck in 2 xp 1600+ plus cpu's and they were detected as athlon mp 1600+ - yes, both of them. these cpu's are bone stock - not unlocked. also detected single cpu as athlon mp - wohoo!

ok here's the goods-

board rev. is 1.03
bios is version 1004

rumor about usb problems with 768 SB appear to be true - there are NO onboard usb headers or usb ports on io panel. there is an addendum to the manual explaining "a configuration change in the operation of the southbridge chipset" yadda yadda.

they did include a usb 2.0 - 4 port pci card with an nec controller in the box though. also an io panel with the normal locations for usb covered. that was nice of them.

board comes configured for jumpered mode - set to 133 fsb. manual only list a few fsb speeds for jumpered mode (100, 103, 105, 110, 115, 133). Switched to jumper free mode - fsb avail. in bios are 90,95, and 100-180 in 1 mhz increments. yippee! no multiplier adjustment in bios (damnit) and no multiplier jumpers.

memory in the board is mushkin enhanced high perf. pc2100 512MB unbuffered non ecc x 2 for a total of 1GB.

well - that's about all i can say for sure now - have not tried to overclock - these cpu's belong to the company i work for. again, i have not unlocked these chips. when i get the chance, i will stick the two athlon mp's in my tyan tiger into this one to see if multiplier adjustment becomes avail.

le spese di spedizione invece sono pochissime

Domande da un utente sulla asus a7m266d

Radar, I read the review on GamePC.com and had a couple of question I thought maybe you could answer.

1) The board seems to have a covering over the holes around the cpu sockets. Does it look like these holes can be punched through so the holes can be used for a waterblock?

2) The board has the extra P4 power connector on it. Does the motherboard include an adapter for use with a non P4 PSU?

3) Does it kick ass?

1 - mounting holes aren't really covered - they look like they were just never drilled out. they look just like the normal MB mounting holes. on top they look like solder pads (round, shiny, silver). on bottom - round/octagonal circuit trace with little dots of solder around perimeter.

my guess is that they had to leave them un-drilled. given the complexity of the circuitry on the dual amd boards(lots of traces-762 NB is a 949 pin ccga package) and the fact that this thing is standard atx size, i would have to say that it is AT LEAST an 8 layer board. i think it feasible that they just had to have that area for additional traces on the internal layers. my knowlwdge (admittedly limited) of circuit design tells me it is MUCH easier to change the layout of the internal layers because you don't have near as many worries about device placement (resistors, capacitors, diodes, etc.) that have to be surface mounted to the boards exterior layers.
to summarize - i don't have the guts to drill those puppies out.

2 - yes - it has the 4 pin Pent IV power connector, but it also has the 6 pin extended atx power connector. looks like the old AT PS connectors, but it is only on plug instead of 2. every PS i have gotten for the past couple of years has had one of these. the manual doesn't specify using just the 4 pin or the 6 pin to supplement the atx PS connector, so i went ahead and hooked them both up, no problems. BTW - the manual states a 400W PS is the minimum (180W for +5/3.3) supported.

3 - haven't put it to the test yet to see if it kicks ass or not. based on my experience with asus in the past, it will kick much ass.
did a test install with xp - everything ok.
this will be my new primary rig, and i will use some stuff out of my currebt box. my second xp 1800+ , new HSF's, and raid controller (promise ft100tx4) should show up today. i'll put it all together this weekend and let you know.
