Running at clock speeds of up to 1GHz, the mobile AMD Athlon 4 processor incorporates advanced features such as 384K total on-chip cache, a fully-pipelined superscalar floating point engine, and a 200MHz front-side system bus. Featuring AMD PowerNow!™ technology, the mobile AMD Athlon 4 processor delivers performance on demand while enabling the ability to significantly extend a system's battery life. AMD PowerNow! technology allows the processor to operate at different frequencies and voltages depending on the user's need for maximum performance or maximum battery life. Three modes of operation are supported. In Automatic Mode, the system monitors CPU usage while applications are running, continuously changing frequency and voltage to deliver an optimized balance of battery life and performance. Alternatively, the user can set the system to always run in High-Performance Mode or in Battery-Saver Mode for maximum battery life. AMD PowerNow! technology operating modes are easily selected through the use of a simple Windows control panel.
