Phenom II runs Crysis at 6.2GHz

Almost always stable

We've seen Phenom II, Deneb overclocked all the way to 6.2GHz. This was not a screenshot boot, we've seen it with our own eyes, as chaps from AMD managed to run the Crysis benchmark several times. The machine was stable on almost every run.
AMD was insisting that this was a stock CPU, not a cherry picked one, and that similar scores should be expected from retail products. Intel has never managed to get to over 6GHz and we are sure that Intel is doing some catching up. You naturally need some LN2 to get to such a high scores and it looks that Phenom II might become an overclocker's favorite toy.

This is quite an achievement and with water you will get to 4GHz+, while with a good air cooler you should reach clocks around 4GHz.

45nm Processors Added to AMD Business Platform Family


According to AMD’s plan, it will unveil Phenom X4 9850B and Phenom X3 8850B with AM2+ socket in the first half of 2009, and then follow with brand-new “BXX” Series processors in Q3.
Phenom II X4 B90, Phenom II X3 B70 and Athlon X2 B20 are equal to the consumer processors - Phenom II X4 900, Phenom II X3 700 and Athlon X2 200.
Based on 45nm S0I technology, they all feature AM3 socket and support DDR2 or DDR3 memory.
Phenom II X4 B90 Series feature 4 cores, and their L2/L3 cache capacity is 8MB. They’re scheduled to come out with 2 verisons of 2.8GHz B93 and 2.6GHz B91, with 95W TDP.
X3 B70 feature 3 cores with 7.5MB L2/L3 cache, coming out with versions of 2.9GHz B22 and 2.7GHz B71 of 65W TDP.

On the other side, the motherboard platform will be upgraded from AMD 780V to RS880. RS880 chipset for business platforms will be added into TPM1.2 and DASH Compliant managed LOM functions (RS880 for consumer platforms will be also available).
AM3 processor based on 45nm and the mobo for business platforms will be codenamed as “Kodiak”, named after an island in south of Alaska.
