pic_001_l1Un po' a sorpresa ma in realtà molto caldeggiato da parte di numerosi utenti, è arrivato il primo obiettivo Nikkor di livello professionale ed apertura costante F4 dedicato al grandangolo: il Nikkor AF-S 16-35mm F4 G ED N VR.

L'ottica in oggetto introduce il sistema VR associato ad un range di focali molto corte e fa presupporre che un ipotetico 35-135mm F4, per esempio, potrebbe esserne parimenti dotato. Soprattutto però il nostro pensiero va all'eccellente 24-70mm F2,8 che, secondo noi, il sistema di stabilizzazione dell'immagine avrebbe dovuto avercelo fin dall'inizio...

Come il nuovo 24 millimetri, anche il 16-35 è un vetro FX, cioè dedicato al full-frame (36x24mm).

Di tipo IF (Internal Focus), nel 16-35mm l'elemento flottante interno si sposta per garantire la corretta messa a fuoco ed indica che la lunghezza dell'obiettivo rimane invariata durante questa operazione; anche qui l'elemento frontale non ruota consentendo l'impiego di eventuali filtri polarizzatori circolari.

Data l'apertura focale massima di F4, che rappresenta un buon compromesso tra luminosità e compattezza, il 16-35 è assolutamente ideale sia con i corpi reflex DX compatti (sui quali diventa un 24-52,5mm F4) che sulle FF per le quali è stato specificamente progettato.

Un'ultima considerazione va fatta in relazione alla lunghezza focale coperta ed alla capacità di poter montare filtri. Attualmente il super-grandangolare 14-24mm F2,8 è la scelta di molti fotografi specializzati ma è un obiettivo pesante (1kg) e non ha la possibilità di montare filtri aggiuntivi data la forma dell'elemento frontale. Inoltre il range focale è limitato e così molti preferiscono continuare ad affidarsi al vecchio 17-35mm F2,8 che però non offre la stessa qualità ai bordi del fotogramma su FF. Il prezzo, tutto sommato ragionevole, potrebbe far diventare il nuovo 16-35mm un vero best-seller.
