Nikon USA, in una recente dichiarazione a PDN Online, ha ammesso che, in determinate condizioni, i corpi macchina reflex D800/E e D4 possono andare incontro ad un blocco temporaneo, risolvibile attraverso un hard-reset e cioè estraendo la batteria e ri-accendendo gli apparati.
In attesa di una soluzione definitiva al problema, attualmente allo studio, il Produttore suggerisce comunque uno work-around in grado di scongiurare il ripresentarsi del problema: all'interno del menu "Playback", andare nel sub-menu "Playback Display Options" e disabilitare le opzioni "Highlights" e "RGB Histogram".

"Nikon has received reports of a small number of D4/D800 users who areexperiencing 'locking up' issues, where the camera becomes unresponsive untilthe battery is removed and reinserted. Nikon is investigating a permanentsolution to this issue and will update users accordingly. To immediatelyresolve this issue, users can turn off both the 'Highlights' and 'RGBHistogram' display options in the 'Playback Display Options' sub-menu found inthe 'Playback' menu. Nikon apologizes for any inconvenience this may havecaused users."
