Quantum Force X58 nei piani di Foxconn - [NEWS]

Sembra che Foxconn stia lavorando ad una seconda mainboard con chipset X58 che andrà ad affiancare la Renaissance.

Si tratta di una mainboard della linea Quantum Force espressamente dedicata ai clockers che si chiamerà BloodRage.

Al momento non si conoscono molti particolari di questo nuova mainboard, secondo indiscrezioni trapelate, sembra che i tecnici Foxconn hanno previsto oltre ai normali fori previsti dal socket LGA 1366, anche quattro fori supplementari con le misure del vecchio socket LGA 775, questo permetterà l'utilizzo della maggior parte dei dissipatori per socket 775.

Tuttavia essendo il socket 1366 più alto rispetto al 775, non sarà possibile utilizzare dissipatori con sistema di aggancio push to pin, e nemmeno quei dissipatori con aggancio con sistema a viti, in cui la lunghezza delle stesse non sia sufficiente.

Their high-end motherboard range is diversified into the Digital Life series for the premium all-rounder motherboards, and Quantum-Force for enthusiast and gamer-grade boards. Foxconn's addition to the Quantum-Force series based on the new Nehalem-supportive X58 chipset, is the Blood Rage.

To quickly run you through the features, it is an enthusiast board for overclockers and gamers alike. It only features three DDR3 DIMM slots, while featuring four PCI-Express x16 slots, supporting both ATI CrossfireX and NVIDIA SLI. It supports DDR3 1800 memory (OC), and a 14 phase hybrid CPU power circuit featuring DirectFET MOSFET technology. The board features a 4-in-1 chipset cooler technology, which can serve purposes of a air-cooling (DIY), water-cooling, and cavity for liquid-nitrogen cooling, much like the Black Ops motherboard. Sound is modularised, with a bundled Foxconn SONAR X-Fi sound card. The board supports SAS storage. What a drool!

la predisposizione dei 4 fori del socket 775 è una bella cosa.. il perchè poi non lo hanno fatto già da subito con la Renaissance è un mistero..

Ottimo i soli 3 slot alle ram piu che sufficenti ottimi anche i doppi atacchi, questo fa ben sperare per nostri WB e attacchi phase/tolotti che non andranno in pensione facilmente.....almeno su questa mobo .

Has some nifty features

One of our contacts at Foxconn kindly supplied us with some detailed picture of the upcoming Quantum Force BloodRage X58 motherboard and a few more details about this board. Although we're most likely still some time away from this board hitting retail, as we'd expect this to be slightly later than the Renaissance board.

We reported about the unusual CPU cooling arrangement of this board a little while ago and you can now clearly see the two sets of holes in the PCB which will allow you to use certain socket 775 coolers with it. The passive chipset cooler can also be swapped in favour for a liquid cooling module, although we don't have any details of this module at the moment.

The red little square thing near the power connector is another interesting feature, as it's a force reset button, which is something between the reset button and the power button. It hard cycles the power, in other words, it switches the system off completely, but then powers it right back on again. This is meant to aid overclockers in certain scenarios and it's a novel feature that we haven't seen before.

The one thing that doesn't show in the picture we got is the audio riser module which connects to the pins above the x1 PCIe slot, rather than using the slot itself like MSI or Asus does on their high-end boards. The audio module supports X-Fi and EAX, although we've yet to confirm if it's a similar to the way Asus does it, i.e. in software, or if they've got a similar hardware solution as MSI.
