Why does my system not boot with an ATI 64 DDR card?
There is a conflict between the "Gart" file for the VIA chipset on the KT7 and the Gart file for the ATI 64 DDR video card. ATI technical support advise users to change the "atigart.exe" filename (in the ATI directory) after installation to "atigart.ati" and then load the VIA AGP driver. This prevents a conflict between the two GART drivers.

Comunque sei sicurissimo d'aver collegato tutto correttamente?

    Predefinito Però qui

Descrive i 4 bip come dovuti alla non presenza della ventola su fan1

If you have BIOS version WW or WZb00, and you get four beeps (some people describe it as more of a siren) and then the machine shuts down, this is because these versions of the BIOS will shut down your machine if no fan tachometer signal is detected on FAN1 header. Make sure you attach a fan to this header! In some cases a loose connection can also cause this - try spreading the pins a little. BIOS WZb01 and later have this functionality disabled by default, and it can be enabled in the BIOS.

Predefinito Va bene va facciamo lavoro completo:

Nothing happens when I try to boot, or only fans start. What's wrong?
Try clearing the CMOS using the jumper on the motherboard (disconnect from the mains power first). It has been reported that this can solve the occasional inexplicable problem of the machine suddenly failing to boot after months of faultless operation.

Otherwise, the most common cause for this is if the CPU is incorrectly seated in the motherboard. Try, try then try again! Also, if using an AGP graphics card, check it is seated correctly. Try without AGP card screwed into slot - this can sometimes cause the AGP card to rest in the slot at an angle. Again, try then try again - have you seen how fine the AGP edge connectors are?! Also try reseating your DIMMs (you may have to press them very hard into their sockets!).

Is your motherboard power cable securely attached to the motherboard? If this is loose or not properly seated you will experience this sympton.

Try reseating the memory - this has been reported as causing this symptom.

Have you accidentally moved the SMB1 jumper on the motherboard - this can cause these symptoms?

Have you set the correct CPU speed in the BIOS? If not, remove your power lead from the computer case, clear the CMOS with the jumper on the motherboard and then reconnect the power. Reboot and immediately hit Delete to go into the BIOS setup. Enter SoftMenuIII and set the correct CPU speed.

Another cause of this problem can be if you have a short-circuit on your motherboard due to the way you have mounted it in your computer housing. Check the traces near your mounting studs, and generally make sure there is no contact whatsoever between the PCB and any part of the case.

Have you correctly connected the case's power switch to the "Power On" switch header (pins 8-9) on the PN1 header on the motherboard?

If you have tried unlocking your CPU using the "pencil trick", a badly joined bridge can cause this.

Is you heat sink installed the correct way round? Most Socket A heatsinks include a "notch" that determines it's orientation. One user reported problems on three different installations due to the heatsink being installed the wrong way round and hence being at a slight angle and presumably either shorting out some of the bridges or failing to make contact with the CPU core.

    Predefinito letto il prima

    dopo ti metti ad ascoltare:

When I try to boot my motherboard beeps at me. What does this mean?
There are a number of beep code you may experience:

No beep at all - this means your motherboard is dead, either due to a defective or underpowered power supply, poorly seated CPU or RAM, or a dead-on-arrival board
One beep - board is working fine
One long beep then machine shuts down - faulty, improperly installed or missing CPU
Beeeeeep-beep-beep - this means no video card detected (or poorly seated video card)
A single tone, repeated over and over. This is a memory problem (could be the DIMM, the controller, or the CPU cache memory).
A two-tone siren, generally caused by overheating or out of specification voltages.
Rapid stream of beeps - this means a key is stuck on your keyboard, it is not properly plugged in, or the keyboard is incompatible in some way
Four beeps then machine shuts down - with BIOS version WW or WZb00 - this is because these version of the BIOS will shut down your machine if no fan tachometer signal is detected on FAN1 header. Make sure you attach a fan to this header! BIOS WZb01 and later have this functionality disabled by default, and it can be enabled in the BIOS.
