AIUTO [URGENTE] Scanner Epson

Ho comprato per un mio amico un bell'EPSON Perfection 1200 USB, glielo monto (il suo computer è: P!!! 128 RAM Asus P2BF Adaptec 2904 CD, Yamaha 4416 SCSI 2 porte parallele in + con schede isa, asus 40x ed altre cosucce) accendo lo scanner, mi chiede i driver, installo i driver dal CD Epson, Win98 (prima ED) me lo vede e in "pannello di controllo" c'è l'icona "scanner e fotocamere" dalle risorse si vede tutto ben configurato ma quando installo e faccio partire il suo programmino per scansire mi si dice che il driver twain non è installato, riprovare; oppure da Paint Shop Pro nel menù c'è solo fino ad "acquire" ma non mi lascia scegliere la sorgente od altro.

Perfavore datemi suggerimenti, so che è per un'intellista ma si vuole prendere il Duron (alla lunga l'ho fatto redimere ;-D ), ma il fatto è che sono nei casini se non lo faccio partire sto maledetto.

Assicuro che lo scanner si accende, e fa i soliti simpatici rumori muovendo la "luce" e rimane in attesa di ordini

Tanto per cominciare, hai visto se c'é un blocco "fisico" allo scanner e nel caso l'hai tolto?

Hai controllato che siano abilitate le porte USB da Bios, se sono installati bene i driver USB e abilitati da Win?. Facci sapere

Ahio! Mi sa tanto che, se ricordo bene la P2BF della Asus c'ha di fabbrica un problema con le porte usb...(bè anche i migliori sbagliano..).
Gurda sul sito Asus, non sono SICURO se era questo il modello, cmq il problema si poteva risolvere in 2 modi: o dissaldare una resistenzina smd (difficile ma almeno uno é a posto per sempre) oppure utilizzare un cavo usb CORTO e di ALTA QUAITA'.
Cmq se trovo info aggiornate su 'sta cosa te le posto.

I was pulling my hair out people.
every time I used more than one device (usb) at a time, the entire usb port would fail. when I would restart the PC the ports were fine. I found this to be the case with several people I know. after weeks of searching and bitching to asus. I finally was able to talk with a tech. at the following asus # 510.739.3777 selection 3
and finally I was told this was indeed a problem with the board, infact the
way it was built. however they had finally started sending the new boards
out, mixed in with the bad boards. here is what I was told; the hub was failing because of voltage drop-out. it seams there was a
resistor of 47ohms were there should have been a pass threw 0 ohms. nice eah! here is where to look. centered between the floppy connector and the Intel 371eb chip, and between the pci slots and the BF jumpers. you will find the location R232 printed on the board right next to it is a dark brownish looking chip. if you see the numbers 470 or 47 printed on it you
have a bad board. that resistor should be marked 0.( this resistor is very very small you may want to take a magnifying glass with you!) I went threw 36 boards at four locations before I found the good board. I installed it and it worked like a champ!!!!

Insomma invece che una resistenza da 0 ce ne dovrebbe essere una da 47 o 470 per cui l'usb non va, ergo bisogna fare un ponticello al posto della resistenza.
Cmq controlla che la tua sia da 47 0 470.

La P2BF l'ho usata io per 5 mesi con un bel AGFA Snapscan 1212 USB e andava da dio...

Tutto abilitato da bios (se no sbaglio c'è solo l'irq per l'usb da abilitare o meno)

Installare i driver usb per win98?!?!?!?!
