Le dita toccano esattamente il bordo cromato dell'obiettivo mentre nella foto sottostante potete osservare lo svaso dell'ottica che è più larga dell'anello frontale. Carl Zeiss ha appena annunciato la disponibilità, a partire dal mese di Novembre e ad un prezzo, IVA esclusa, di circa 965,55 Euro, dell'obiettivo grandangolare a grande apertura Distagon 28mm F2 per l'attacco a baionetta Canon EF.

Erede del famoso "Hollywood" per Contax/Yashica e differente dalla versione per Nikon F-mount, è l'ultimo arrivato in ordine di tempo nella declinazione ZE: il 28mm è stato infatti preceduto, qualche mese fa, dal Distagon 21mm F2,8.
La formula ottica comprende 10 elementi in 8 gruppi ed è caratterizzata da un elemento flottante interno per la messa a fuoco.
