Non ho il resto! Per questo domandavo prima di comprare.. Ho solo batteria e carica batteria, devo valutare cosa comprare. Per l'esattezza:

OPZIONE 1:
ATOM Intel D2550DC2 (Intel Atom 2x 1.86Ghz CPU, HDMI) [FANLESS] [ Intel ITX (17x17 cm) ] + ram + picoPSU + Batteria(che ho già)

OPZIONE 2:
ASUS ATX P8P67LE Motherboards - P8P67 LE - ASUS (che ho già) + celeron + ram + ali

A cui collegare una hiface2 con alimentazione a batteria (entrambi che ho già).

Aggiungo che il costo è circa lo stesso, cambia solo l'ingombro. (l'ali x l'asus userei un seasonic fanless)

Ma sonicamente parlando quale soluzione è la migliore?
Con le schede madri con Atom, è possibile intervenire da bios x cambiare Volt, Frequenze ecc...?

Alex...dovresti chiarire quale software intendi usare, hqplayer in pcm o dsd? (con atom e celeron la vedo difficile per il dsd)

Scusa cmpaolo, forse mi sono perso un pezzo in mezzo ai 164 msg...Ma l'upsampling non lo fà il computer server? il NAA non deve solo trasportare il segnale dalla lan all'usb?

Da quello che mi ricordo, i bios degli Atom hanno ben poco
Cmq, puoi scaricare il manuale della schedamadre in questione e controllare

Today Geoffrey Armstrong and I tested a pair of Fibre Media Converters Gigabit Single-Mode Media Converter MC210CS - Welcome to TP-LINK in between the NAA and the rest of the network and it made a big improvement to the sound.

The connections are

[Network Router (1 Gb)] - - -- CAT5 -- - - [MC210CS] - - - 2 fibre optic cables - - - - -[MC210CS] - - - - -CAT5 - - - -[NAA computer]- - - - USB - --- - [DAC]

- SMPS powering first MC210CS and cheap LPS powering second MC210CS

We did this test on two systems

System A

HQ Player on Win 8.1 MAC Pro > NAA on WS2012+AO Minimal Server Mode on DH61DL i7 > TotalDac D1 USB > Exasound E22 > Hypex Ncore > KEF Blade

System B

HQ Player on MAC OSX Yosemite on MAC Pro > NAA on SOTM SMS-100 (Linux) > USB > Grimm LS1 digital active speaker

For both systems, the optical isolation on the LAN connection made a big and very big improvement to the realism of the sound.

The cost of the 2 x MC210CS and the 2 meter fibre optic cable was about Euro 110. The cost of the voltage selectable LPS was Euro 11, but made very big difference to the sound quality !

From this experience a dedicated hardware for NAA must include 2 Fibre Media Converters and at least one linear power supply for the FMC connected to the NAA

I guess you will never need several Km of optical fiber between the two endpoints... thus, instead of the single-mode converter (and cable), you may also use a (likely cheaper) multi-mode one. Possible effects on sound should be exactly the same.

P.S.: I'd also consider using a much longer optical cable, moving the master computer in another room...
